, the cyclebus have been asking for a curb to be dished for months now. Is there a reason you are not addressing this. It seems like a very minor task that would be of benefit to a lot of people. With the €10million stimulus funding, it can't be a resource issue.

In this day and age, we tend to overemphasize technology as 'the solution'and also overengineer solutions. The simple elegance of the school cycle bus "solutiion' continues to inspire AND perform.

This roundabout was identified as a barrier to cycling in report by over 5 years ago. We are not aware of any immediate plans to resolve that issue. These parents set up a cyclebus to overcome the issue, not ideal, but at least it's something they can control.

This 👇, we are getting very little meaningful engagement on part 8 submissions, usually the same cut n paste answers on what we perceive as valid & important observations on design and compliance. Without meaningful consultation our public realm suffers, this is already evident

Two interesting podcast episodes I'd recommend, on technology and urbanism. First, Kevin Kelly on about the benefits of tech, and on generating wealth long term. "Disney said we make money to make movies, not make movies to make money".

The only carriageway that is uninterrupted is that of the private car. Bus and cycle lanes play second fiddle to the movement of cars. non continuous bus lanes are significantly less effective than continuous ones.

This is Plassey road BTW, It is a key junction for access to and the technology park. If we are serious about achieving modal shift to sustainable & active transport we need to offer coherent flow through junctions Full information & observations here

This design by is 'proposed to proceed' despite a number of concerns raised during consultation. Forcing pedestrians and cyclists together at junctions like this creates conflict and reduces the attractiveness of both modes of sustainable transport

Thread: Childers Road cycle route - Part I. Childers Road works as an inner ring road around the southeast of Limerick city. Currently it's a hostile environment for cycling but it is earmarked to be a primary cycle route according to 2016 Limerick Cycle Network proposal.

Early indications suggest that electric cars take up just as much room on footpaths as diesel and petrol cars.
