The UK has a proud history of providing sanctuary to those in need. That's why Liberal Democrats are urging Rishi Sunak to use his Spending Review to dedicate long-term funding to resettle 10,000 refugees each year.

Tomorrow's Spending Review must include a clear plan to make sure British people don’t pay the price for the Government’s failure to control this pandemic. That includes providing support for the 3 million taxpayers that have been excluded from any help >

Proud to sign this cross-party letter to the PM calling for Government to permanently fund free hospital parking for NHS staff. We owe our heroes in the NHS so much for their tireless work throughout this pandemic and beyond; caring for our loved ones and battling to save lives.

We must do everything we can to help and support those in care during this difficult time. That means no care home should be forced to admit people who are COVID positive - we cannot afford a repeat of what happened in the first wave.

The enshrined the 0.7% commitment in law and we're proud of that. It's been the difference between life and death for many across the globe. The Govt's destructive actions during a pandemic cannot credibly claim to be building a Global Britain.

Govt has been cavalier about the impact the Pandemic is having on disabled people, both in the workplace and beyond. We need to do everything we can to make this a moment to tackle entrenched inequalities and avoid allowing them to deepen still further.

This will hurt some of the world’s most vulnerable people. And it will make us less safe here at home. It is a callous act by a government that does not care about the future of the world’s poorest people - and doesn’t seem to care about ours either.

In the Commons yesterday I called on the PM to listen to and develop a sustainable exit strategy for a Covid-Secure UK. The vaccine results are great news, but we've heard from experts and scientists that they're not a silver bullet on their own. Watch 👇

Many pupils, parents and teachers alike are anxious about this year's exams. They need clarity and certainty it will be a level playing field. That's why I & have called on govt to scrap exams and confirm a fairer approach to assessment

Success! Govt has listened to family carers & x-party MPs on : every care home resident will have two visitors who can be tested twice a week. A huge relief to many families.

Today the Oxford Vaccine Group made our day that bit brighter with the fantastic news about their coronavirus vaccine. Now we need to see the funding and resources from Govt to make mass vaccination as effective as possible. My message of congratulations 👇

The Government got it badly wrong with care homes during the first wave of coronavirus. That simply cannot happen again.

This is extremely good news for grassroots clubs up and down the country. With shows and other cultural events allowed to take place in Covid safe ways, it made no sense to continue to pretend sports clubs cannot do the same.🥳

Such an inspiring piece of work! The fact we so many young people passionate about climate action working in the energy sector gives me great hope for the future - I hope policy-makers are listening and react with more radical climate policies.

Any tougher restrictions MUST come with more support for jobs and businesses, especially in the tourism and hospitality industry and for those who have been excluded from Government support for the past 8 months. Protecting livelihoods will help us to save lives.

Today’s Oxford vaccine news is a fantastic development - especially for those of us in the UK. But not everyone is so lucky – 2/3rds of the world’s population won’t get a vaccine until 2022 as things stand. Read my piece on vaccine nationalism ⬇️

This is yet another moment of hope for people in the UK and around the world. It's key that the Government fixes its flawed test, trace & isolate system to protect lives before a vaccine is rolled out.
