I have a different job today, smoking last years turkey. Trying some Leffe Blonde beer for the liquid and some soaked cherry. Should be interesting at least.

Still have hope to get time for watercolor again in the near future. Ordered a nice light pochade with a bit of an adjustment so it should work great for watercolor. I’ll post pics and details when it gets here. Could be a bit though, it’s not a factory made item.

Not much going on lately other than work. It’s been extra busy for months and it’s hard to stay awake for more than a few hours afterward. Sleeps not great keep getting woke up by customer emails. Can’t turn it off have to keep the phone on for server alerts.

Well here’s a random King Louie shot. Fiddling with an app that cheats the portrait depth face recognition requirement.

Spent some time stirring and adding a little water to keep my paint in a useable state. Letting it dry out would be fairly wasteful. Probably wouldn’t be an issue if I had time to paint everyday.

I’ve had a series 1 watch for a number of years and it finally ended up with the bloated battery and popped the screen.😔 Honestly probably wouldn’t use them if I wasn’t on call for work 24/7. Oh well.

Netflix Cursed - So far all the characters are basically a bunch of lost dunces. Nothing compelling or real about them. Just a handful of pretty faces contrasted against scarred and worn adversaries in a bleak world. I guess dystopian fantasy?

Today's Small Study - Tried to go the Herman Pekel route. Focus on color first and tone second. I think it turned out a little more lively than some of my previous studies. The small paper size is starting to feel restrictive, which I think is a good thing 😅

Not posting this to sway your views on whether to use them. I just find it's always good to understand a tool and it's uses. Keep your distance and stay safe folks!

Small Study in Color - I think those value studies paid off! A few more decent studies like this and I’ll probably increase paper size. Which in some ways will be easier. Hard to make small marks in a small study.

Small Two Color Value Study - Not all that interesting more of a test. Realized I should try Burnt Umber and Ultramarine since they don't stain like neutral tint.

Doing another value study with two colors(burnt umber/ultramarine) this time. The colors aren’t super important, but the comment I hear is: oo that’s a pretty blue. Good to know, I’ll send the manufacturer a note.

But wait there will be help for these jobs. What you mean like I have help on the weekend or after a normal work day?

Here I was thinking about trying something different for another small study and it’s a day off. Day off what’s that, not interrupted hah try again. Today is a day to do even more work than normal.
