I've skimmed through it. She concludes that there was not a genocide.

You romanticize a savagely violent, illiterate, oppressive slave-holding culture that was 19th century Adygea. Adyegean slaves ran away to Russia. Adygean gangs mutilated corpses they dug out from graves. They chopped off the heads of enemies and put them on poles

Russians have been in Caucasus for at least 1000 years

Nope. Cossacks and Adygeans were living side by side along the frontier. There was no colonialism - Cossacks were Ukrainian refugees from Polish serfdom and they were entitled to freedom of movement. You can compare the Caucasus wars to English conquest of Scotland.

Ottoman Empire slaughtered around 100,000 Armenians in the 1890s. This was atrocious but was not a genocide. COMPLETELY different from the genocide against Armenians during 1914-1920s. When analyzing, it is helpful to distinguish between different levels of violence.

The Chechens and Ingush did collaborate with Nazi Germany on a noteworthy level. Criminal gangs got weapons from Germans and had contact with German saboteurs that parachuted into the Chechnya. Many thousands of Chechens and Ingush served in the Nazis' Caucasian-Muslim Legion.

Chechen-Ingush desertions + participation in armed terrorist gangs in1940-44 was massive. Twice as many Chechens and Ingush were killed/captured when fighting against Soviet units than the number of Chechen-Ingush that died while serving in the Soviet armed forces during the war

Another element is that Turkey treated the Adygeans horribly. They put 400 people on ships meant for 50 people. The Turks put them in tents.

Come on now. You obviously know a lot about the region, and this lady clearly has accomplished waaaaay more in scholarship about the Caucasus than you have.

And you can't help but shake your head at the Turks for denying the Armenian Genocide while completely distorting the circumstances that led to Adygean emigration to Turkey. Adygeans helped organize the Armenian genocide like this Russia-born psychopath Mehmed Resid in Diyarbekir

The causes of the conflict in the Caucasus were Turkish aggression and Adygean raids and plunder committed against Russia. Some Adygeans supported Russia and served in the military and Cossacks, while others participated in criminal gangs even after Caucasus became part of Russia

And let us compare Russia's policies of giving cultural autonomy and promoting local political and intellectual elites vs Turkish policy assimilating everyone. There is a Republic of Adygea now for 100 years, nothing like it in Turkey.

Turkey treated Adyghean migrants they agitated for with cruelty and subjected the migrants to intolerable conditions. Turkey was desperate to have them in Turkey in order to (1) increase the Moslem population and (2) use skilled Adyghean warriors to oppress Christians

The Adyghean economy and way of life revolved around thievery, slave-trading, and kidnappings, while Russia produced men like Lomonosov and Moscow University was a center of philosophy.

There was no Circassian Genocide, however Circassians were prominent participants and organizers of the Armenian Genocide, such as this Russia-born psychopath Mehmed Reshid

Caucasus region 200 years ago was extremely backwards, warlike, and Adygeans were fragmented into a bunch of different tribes that hated each other. Some of them supported Russia, some fought against Russia. It was a violent, cruel time for evereyone but not a genocide

It's pretty hard to argue about a genocide when part of the Adygeans served in the Russian military and Cossacks
