One of the consequences of calling an election on a Thursday instead of Sunday is to stop Senate Estimates hearings. In my portfolio alone this shuts down questions to the CSIRO about the Adani approval and Murray Darling hearings scheduled for Friday now won’t happen.

is the most significant challenge facing our generation. Countries have been urged to reduce emissions by 45% over the next decade and net zero by 2050. The Morrison Federal Govt has stuck with old targets of 26-28% by 2030. This is clearly inadequate.

All we want is Queensland’s fair share from the Morrison Govt in tomorrow night’s federal budget. My government is doing the heavy lifting when it comes to infrastructure spending here while Scott Morrison spends billions on pet projects in Sydney and Melbourne.
