I know what you mean, but the Left is very religious. Secularism and an anti-human humanism are religions. Their devotees are ardent worshippers and abortion is a central sacrament.

🙋🏾‍♂️ here I am bruh. In the womb, outside the womb, conception to grave count me in. Standing for life does not have to be a mutually exclusive event.

I think is actually losing influence. The culture is changing rapidly. SBC pew sitters are changing with it. Sadly most pastors will preach to please the congregation. Then the liberals will take over. The only course is to go ahead and split.

I never believed he was a cultural Marxist. My problem with him was his adherence to the ridiculous 11th commandment. He was too busy scolding the tone of his own side to call out the people pushing this theological error.

I happened to be watching a documentary called Jesus v Joseph Smith from Amazon Prime that gives a good presentation of this very issue. Definitely low production value but well presented.

Textual criticism proves the New Testament to be the most accurate by far of any ancient text. There are hundreds of witnesses to its veracity. Mormonism is a transparent fraud.

Wondering what great teaching of Jesus he expects us to keep. “Deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me.” “If you lust after a woman in your heart you committed adultery.” Probably easier to just make your own rules.

To reject the inerrancy of Scripture is not Christianity.

We have a higher authority. “Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.” John 15:20 ESV

I know. It would be way more popular with current society for churches to ditch inerrancy and redact all those troublesome passages that mean we have to stand against the tide of secular sexual ethics.

If the SBC endorses this it will lead to abandoning all orthodoxy as it has with every other denomination before.

Not speaking out on an issue as a gage of concern is silly. Some things are uncontroversial there is really nothing that needs to be added to the conversation. Much more will be said about the controversial issues. No one disagrees that child molesters should be locked up.

Now if only we would defy the illegitimate RvW ruling and enforce it anyway.
