So we accidently ran an experiment where we did the most any individual can do to reduce carbon emissions and it’s not enough.

On the other side, deuces emissions have lead to fewer deaths, so a massive green new deal switchover is also public health policy

This is attracting single issue cranks but re: meat. Americans eat too much meat and profit-driven industrial farming helped create this but it needs to be mentioned in the same breath as our military, synthetic fiber, etc. it’s why no individual response works. We tried that.

(Having said that, maybe you don’t need next day shipping on a Halloween costume for your pet just cause it’s cheap. Maybe that can wait a week. Then again I want to nationalize Amazon and merge it with the post office and make the whole thing zero carbon so, pinch of salt)

(But then will all be moot anyway cause no one is going to have any money to spare anyway so we’re just arguing online cause no one can go outside)

I agree it shows the limits of individual change, but more accurate measures of CO2 output usually come months later. Plus folks are still eating as much meat as ever, a big emitter.

If it takes everyine sitting at home to make this amount of dent then no amount of indivual effort will be enough. Every domesticated food animal could vanish tomorrow and we’d still need a sweeping industrial, policy.
