Well that will take some beating today - Audi SQ5 travelling northbound on the M5. 2 children in the car. I had an Irish builder almost in tears as I explained the error of his ways. Despicable driving. JLF

From Monday we will be focussing on speed enforcement for two weeks. We will be anywhere and everywhere, using camera vans and unmarked vehicles to reintroduce the ‘fear of being caught’ to address offending behaviour. Too many people are becoming casualties on our roads.

The higher you speed - 👉 less time to react to situations 👉 greater time and distance it takes to stop 👉 greater chance you may skid 👉 greater the force on impact in a collision 👉 greater the personal injury and damage to property ^ps

“I'm driving home for Christmas Oh, I can't wait to see those faces...” 🎄 But make sure you take plenty of restful breaks otherwise you won’t get there. Driver stopped on due to lane drifting. Travelled from Surrey and had only taken one break.

It's not all about enforcement and picking up the pieces. We are all involved in education to spread the road safety message. This picture is from a talk at CTCRM at Lympstone to Royal Marines about to go on Christmas leave. JLF

If you don’t drive to the conditions this is the sort of thing that happens! The driver was very shaken otherwise uninjured. However the driver who filmed it on his mobile as he drove past me had an expensive end to his afternoon!! Oh and he was 72yrs old! 😳😡

I will never forget going to a drink driving talk in 2012 with my sixth form. Had ZERO idea I'd be in the same position as the speakers just 2 days later. If you think driving is okay after just one drink, please watch the link.
