What's especially troubling to me, ,is that heat anomalies are in both hemispheres now, simultaneously. The lines between "winter" and "summer" are blurring as the planet becomes one giant Equatorial region.

Months ago I, with trepidation, wrote that this epidemic was on track to become endemic. I fear it's on the cusp now. Violence will render this a permanent whack-a-mole situation, with the missing links in chains of transmission being combatants that never go to clinics.

Running backwards on eradication. Yesterday another 4 polio cases surfaced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces. That brings the Pakistani total to 45 so far this year.

I was under the impression there were going to be 12 cases reported for yesterday; the Ebola dashboard says 11. Either way (given that the reporting is one day behind) the case count in the North Kivu-Ituri outbreak has probably already surpassed 2,500. What a tragedy.
