Effective immediately, Maryland flags will fly at half-staff in honor of Speaker Mitchell until sunset on the day of his interment.

Speaker Clay Mitchell was a man for whom I had tremendous respect and admiration. He dedicated his life to serving others and will always be remembered as an icon on the Eastern Shore. The prayers of Marylanders are with the Mitchell family during this difficult time.

His countless contributions include fighting to modernize Maryland’s transportation infrastructure, & last year, I was proud to dedicate the Route 50 Bridge over the Kent Narrows in Speaker Mitchell’s honor.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our 104th Speaker of the House of Delegates, and my good friend, R. Clayton Mitchell, Jr. As an Army veteran and distinguished member of the legislature, Speaker Mitchell leaves an indelible mark on our great state.

Secretary , Maryland has the worst gerrymandering in America. I’ve been fighting for 4 years and Democrats in the state legislature refuse to even bring it up for a vote. We could use your help.

Quite frankly, most Americans probably think they deserve pink slips instead of pay raises.

A big pay raise for Congress? With all the divisiveness and dysfunction in DC, they continually fail to get anything done. They need to focus on doing their jobs and adopting an actual budget.

Harriet Tubman’s countless contributions to our nation transcend race, gender, nationality, & religion. Her acts of heroism, courage, & sacrifice have more than earned her rightful place among our nation's most pivotal leaders. She deserves this honor.

“We applaud the governor for leading by example, taking a bold step that doesn't require him to hold the highest office in the land -- something we can all do regardless of our politics.” ⁦

I remain ready to help make this historic trade agreement a reality. Now we need Washington to step up and show leadership.

It seemed that Washington was finally making progress on this agreement. But now, out of nowhere, the administration is threatening to hit Mexico—one of our closest trading partners—with tariffs. Tariffs are really just taxes on jobs and consumers, in Maryland and nationwide.

On March 11, I wrote to the president and leaders of Congress that I was ready to work with them to ratify the new US-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement. Additionally, I worked to get the nation’s governors—Republicans & Democrats—to back the agreement.

Today we remember the 156,000 troops who stormed the beaches at Normandy and honor those who gave their lives 75 years ago for our freedom today. May we never forget the service and sacrifice of these brave heroes.
