On let us also remember another important non renewable resource that is being destroyed daily-our cultural heritage. Once destroyed, it is gone forever!

Jo Anne has been a pioneering scholar and seemed prepared for the question. As for whether Cooper would have asked a man, I have no idea. Im not convinced that not confronting these ridiculous racist tropes head on is not a better way, but they never seem to go away.

Jo Anne van Tilburg has done scientific archaeological research on Easter Island for thirty years with her local co PI. She is one of the two or three world experts on Easter Island, and I would say #1 when it comes to the statues. She denied and laughed at the alien theory.

Bourdieu has a (less than) masterful grasp of the obvious. Practice theory is devoid of explanatory power

chag pesach sameach, Happy Passover to all. And as we celebrate our freedom from bondage, please read this article about anti-semitism and attempts to silence Jews on campus. I have seen numerous similar incidents.

Now that's some talent! SPI is working with an exceptional association of women in Maria, to build their business selling new hand-made products around the Kuélap ruins.

It is not a bylaw issue-it is something for the board to decide upon and determine. When people dont make clear delegations of authority and staff is uncertain when they are empowered, disaster is frequently the result

Hurray!!!! Someone speaking mantra. Now if only multilaterals would actually do this instead of paying lip service (not calling out Arlene, who is great)

Need to look at board staff relationship. What is staff empowered to do? How are they trained? And when do/are they supposed to involve the board?

My question is are senior archaeologists representing the views of the more junior ones? Senior archaeologists dont need the SAA to expose their work and advance their careers. I want to take whatever actions best support these colleagues

I have read and listened. I have not heard or seen their views on boycotting the SAA and their careers or alternatives.
