Self-portraiture was a constant source of inspiration for David Bomberg. This is one of a series of boldly drawn charcoals in which he shows himself bareheaded with a characteristically inquisitive stare. 'Bomberg' is on display until 28 May.

Bug paint! Last week one of our outreach groups explored traditional methods of creating pigment and paint then created their own using the cochineal insect, crushing the dried insects into a powder and adding different expanders. (insects responsibly sourced)
