Yup. We can't take the argument that all votes should be counted and then argue with the result if we don't like them. Just count them all, properly.

Looks like it just updated on mine too. But I'll have to try it when I'm not sitting in total darkness.

Hm. Haven't gotten it on my Pixel 2 yet, but I'm curious to see when it shows up. My phone is chewing up my battery lately anyway, hopefully the app I just uninstalled will fix that.

Of course they won't. Because they'll never do anything that might not be good for them.

Given straight ticket voting is set to go away in 2020, it will be interesting to see what happens. I expect undervotes. Houston lost a good Republican judge in the sweep. I hope something picks up his good work.

Daughter, this morning: You've been in the bathroom for so long that I've turned 9 and started a new life with the cats.

It's been a pet project of mine for the last 20+ years. Not really campaigning actively, although if it came up here in Texas I certainly would! Everyone talks about hating their choices. Well. First past the post is what holds third parties down.

Exactly. This is part of why I like ranked choice voting.

Because they have so much cognitive dissonance they're deaf to logic.

We have friends whose kids were at Santa Fe. My husband's been on lockdown at his school more than once. We've had threats at our high school. I breathe more easily now that my daughter's school actually has an airlock entry. The younger kids are in open concept classrooms.

Yes. One of my clearest memories of middle school is the time we spent a couple of days negating a friend's suicide ponderings at lunch, finding ways to dissuade him from every way he contemplated. We reported it, because how could we not?

Ugh. I am sorry. I'm going to hazard a guess as to which middle school this is, and assume it's the one I went to as well, many years ago. We live in the suburbs now, but it still worries me for my 3rd grader.

I'm hoping that Diane Trautman can do some work in Harris County to help here, at least.

But the current state of the Republican party, and Trumpist-Republican policies, don't support that perspective. That is what I don't understand.

I like how you think I think she's a moron. I don't. Whobis makes no assumption s about "those people" now? I greatly respect her prolife position, because she supports helping people and supports giving people help beyond pregnancy and childbirth. More than just a fetus.

I'll be honest that the DeSantis numbers don't surprise me. White women have long voted Republican, but have been (slowly) moving Dem, and educated white women are strong Dems. Trump had less support from white women than Romney, etc. But 76% for Kemp... racism is a helluva drug.
