Good counter-argument to everyone who says that untargeted metabolomics is not useful because it is not hypothesis-based. Lots of useful information in all those additional metabolite features.

Of our 4 systems 3 our down. 2 mass spec hardware issues and 1 LC hardware problem. I just don't see how labs can operate with 1 LCMS system. I wish people outside our field knew this. We make it look easy to keep everything working, but it's really anything but.

Looking for advice: is it better to do Rna-seq through my university's sequencing facility (local, potential for direct interactions and feedback ), or through an external vendor (much much cheaper ). If the latter, who would you recommend?

A🌎without NTDs is a world where more children can excel in school, more adults can earn a living & more communities thrive. That’s why every $1 spent on NTDs creates $27-$42 in economic benefit.

Wonderful day talking about great science INPART. Thanks Robert Cichewicz, Adam , et al and the wonderful students for hosting. Loved seeing Robert’s chemical zoo (a living exhibit of fungi producing what may be the medicines of the future).

Why do YOU work on NTDs?

Today is . A few of the reasons why I work on NTDs: 1) over a billon people affected, little attention = big opportunities to have a measurable impact through academic translational research. 2) understudied = lots of new biology to uncover

For every person affected by an NTD, there’s often a loving caregiver—usually a girl or woman—who is prevented from keeping a job, getting an education or bringing their family out of poverty.
