Travis Blankenhorn () has officially been promoted from the Miracle to Double-A Pensacola. Travis was a class act and a true pleasure to work with during his time here. Even though he's an Eagles fan, I'll miss having him around! Good luck, Blank!

Probables this weekend at Target Field: Fri: Martin Perez vs. Alex Cobb Sat: Jose Berrios vs. Dan Straily Sun: Kyle Gibson vs. Dylan Bundy Same matchups that produced a Twins sweep last week in Balt. Rocco Baldelli said there's no particular reason for flipping Perez & Berrios.

Cody Allen removed as Angels closer. I remeber the clamoring for the Twins to sign him. But he had declining velo and strikeout rate concerns....🤔

Twins optioned RHP Kohl Stewart back to AAA Rochester after Wednesday's loss. They'll call up another player -- right-handed reliever Matt Magill appears to be a likely candidate -- before Friday's game.

Good inning for Romero. Twins could use that 98 mph fastball in their bullpen.

Berrios was supposed to start but got rained out Friday. He had to pitch in the doubleheader so that pushed him back a day.

Sid Hartman's column in tomorrow's will be byline No. 21,000, according to our sports dept do-everything guy Joel Rippel. 21,000 bylines. Amazing. I don't know if anyone anywhere has tried to keep records for such things, but hard to imagine someone having more.

Now we know why Willians Astudillo played right field in Baltimore— he’s starting out there tonight. Byron Buxton gets a night off vs. Justin Verlander. Here are tonight’s lineups:

Stewart is a Houston native who will be making his second appearance as a Twin in his hometown. He pitched 5 scoreless innings, allowing only three hits, in Houston last Sept. 4.
