If weddings were due to ‘reopen’ on 1st August to include the wedding breakfast for 30 people...but no guidance to reopen was released in the run up...did ever intend to move onto this next stage? Makes you wonder.

What about our wedding breakfast ? I’m due to get married on 27.08.20 and the uncertainty & stress of the governments u-turn on small safe wedding receptions is making me mentally unwell

I work with >30 ppl every day. Pubs and restaurants are open. I can hop on a plane full of strangers for 5 hours to go on hol. But I’m limited to 30 ppl (inc me and fiancé, registrars, photographer etc) for my wedding with no reception/drinks/sit down meal.

So this is acceptable at a pub but a small seated meal after a wedding ceremony isn’t?! Before banning families from celebrating a milestone event in a well-managed venue, how about you crack down on this first?

Madness. 700k jobs at risk. £70bn a year. It’s huge. More than restaurants and pubs combined.

How can you fight for jobs, when weddings can't go ahead with 30 guests, yet scenes like this can go? Contact Tracing at its finest here I'm sure! 5 months & no support

Bars = Yes-Drinks reception =No Meal out = yes-wedding breakfast = No Air travel = Yes-gathering of 30 = No Public transport = yes-gathering of 30 = No Sit amongst 100 strangers in restaurant = yes Sit amongst 30 family members = No where is the logic in this?

The wedding and events sectors are worth £70bn + every year. The economy needs us long term. Sector specific support is ESSENTIAL.

Just about to go for a meeting with my venue to discuss my new scaled down wedding & reception plans which are now not allowed. I had a lovely meal at a packed restaurant last night though approx 70 people in there...work that illogical bs out?!

28 days to go. 28 days of worry and anxiety. Will they allow wedding meals again? Will they cancel wedding ceremonies entirely? Will we lose even more money? Will our wedding be cancelled the night before? What a nightmare.

Can the gov explain to me why I’m being encouraged to eat with strangers using the eat out to help out scheme but I’m not allowed a social distance meal with my 24 wedding guests at my private venue?
