I have distinct memories of grocery shopping w/my mom. American markets were clean & well-air conditioned. Asian markets were smaller, affordable & had foods closest to my heart. I’m so happy to see the opening of Lee’s Supermarket; a place that merges the best of both worlds.

Thanks to my mom for teaching me and my brother to be good people; and for creating opportunities for us to learn from others the things she could not teach us as a refugee to this country. Happy Mother’s Day! Love you, mẹ!

The city of St. Louis and St. Louis County split in 1876, resulting in 89 separate cities in the county. Plans to unite city & county have been put on hold, but if it happens, St. Louis would replace San José as America’s 10th largest city. via

Remarkable. Just moderated a panel where the mayors of San Jose, Oakland and Sacramento all said they were in favor of eliminating single-family only zoning in their cities
