I was honored to present the proclamation declaring June 19th as Juneteenth Day in MN to commemorate the end of slavery in the U.S. in the 1860s. Still, I think of the words of Bryan Stevenson of , who says slavery didn’t end, it just evolved. We have work left to do.

We are partnering with again this summer for their “Lunch and Literacy” program. Yesterday Capstone volunteers gave away 350 books as part of the program. The kids got to enjoy a free meal from the food truck & were able to take some free books home! 📚
