Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh have found that helping others causes both increased activity in your brain's "reward centers" and decreased activity in brain regions responsible for our physical response to stress. Great to keep in mind during this season of giving!

Physiologist Scott Trappe discovered something incredible through a study of older adults who exercise. "We saw that people who exercise regularly... have better overall health... These 75-year-olds... have similar cardiovascular health to a 40- to 45-year-old." Wow!

Researchers are currently studying a vaccine that would allow those with celiac disease to tolerate limited amounts of gluten. Nexvax2 has cleared initial safety testing, and the hope is that it will eventually let people with celiac disease incorporate gluten into their diets.

The FDA has announced a redesign of Nutrition Facts labels. Changes include separating natural and added sugars, listing facts for whole packages as well as servings, and replacing Vitamin A & C counts with Vitamin D & Potassium. The full story is here:

The FDA has approved the first new flu medication in 20 years! Xofluza is a pill taken within 48 hours of flu-like symptoms to stop the virus from replicating, and It will be available in the coming weeks.
