Nice use of a custom operator 👍 Although, I would advise against this. If you need methods, I would just create functions in a util file and call those functions when needed. Having plain objects as state allows you to properly serialize, no custom mapping needed, ...

So the more tests you can get in a certain timeframe, the more certain you are that your changes didn't break anything. So for that reason, I decided not to do this. Even though I still use Cypress for my smoke tests obviously.

The only problem I see with this (which I've considered as well) is the time it takes to run. Even though Cypress is blazing fast for UI tests, a shallow rendering test with Angular is still way faster. If all your tests start to take +30min they become unusable in a CI pipeline.

I'm curious about you handle things, which data that comes from AJAX do you put in the store static data: eg: countries (never changes) unshared data: data that is only used in a single component
