It's hard to understand mental health problems unless you've experienced it first-hand or w/ a loved one. That's who the County wants to hear from at upcoming community forums. This topic is important to me. Your input could really make a difference. More:

I'm pleased to appoint Rev. to the County's Child and Family Strengthening Advisory Board. As a former foster child, he's a fierce advocate for our foster youth and provides perspective based on lived experience. There's no better person to serve in this role.

After dodging requests SANDAG's ED finally spoke. Says SANDAG is unveiling new transportation plan BUT doesn't know the cost. TransNet fund $10-15 BILLION short! It gets better. He's recommending a tax increase in 2022. You buying any of this?

The County & have an agreement to build a facility that will provide psychiatric services in N County. But our work isn't done. We must continue to build on the entire continuum of care and...end the stigma around mental health. Full remarks

Not easy cramming import details in 1 post so I'm thankful to for the opportunity to explain why I voted against SANDAG's $90M bike lane project. SD we need to wake up! SANDAG's ED says to expect $1 TRILLION tax measure in 2022! Watch interview:

8 of the 10 most dangerous intersections are in N County (Oceanside & Escondido). But you won’t find them on the list of priorities approved by the SANDAG Board today who instead allocated $90 million in Transnet funds for bike projects used by less than 1% of the population.

Exactly. Hard to balance my 3 kids and their backpacks on my bike on the way to school. Oh, and then commute to work downtown.

An important step in the right direction! The County and Tri-City Medical Center have reached an agreement to build a 16-bed psychiatric health facility in North County that Board Supervisors will vote on next week.

Michael I’m disappointed to hear you were there last night and have so much to say on Twitter yet you didn’t have the courage to stand up and say any of this in person. Much easier to criticize when you don’t have to look someone in the eyes, right?

Opportunity to respectfully discuss 1 of our biggest issues- our homeless. Encinitas opened a parking lot near YMCA where those living in cars can park. My office has received complaints/concerns about public safety so we’ll be talking about it tomorrow. Details in the flyer.

Let's face it, labor union SEIU isn't your grandparents’ union. It’s all about power, politics & wanting control of Bd of Supervisors so they can triple costs of projects. You think SD is expensive now? It’ll be worse if they unseat me. interview:
