I can’t decide what’s worse; thinking that nobody remembers Manhunter, or thinking that you need to remember it when the scene you’re talking about IS RIGHT THERE ON THE SCREEN AT THE TIME. Sorry.

Hahahaha!!! The Daily Mail, there, surprising us all with their derision for expertise.

Brilliantly, the one negative review for last night's SECRETS OF CINEMA comes from the Mail's Christopher Stevens, who previously complained that I "watch too many films" and now opines that I "know too much" about movies. Genius!

I think "fleeting yet crucial cameo appearance" is the correct term.

Your supply teachers this week will be and nathan. No playing up just because he's new - he's already had his interviewing technique marked out of 10 by Emma Thompson. Send an email, however loosely film-related: mayo@bbc.co.uk.

Taking time out from reviewing the movies to watch the final episode of dealing with the horror genre. Sterling work by and all concerned. After unmitigated enthusiasm from cinephiles and media alike, surely more to follow?

Finally, a huge thanks to our exec producer John Das, without whom SECRETS OF CINEMA would never have got made. Thankyou John!

Also, enormous thanks to the crews who designed, lit and shot the links, and to the production staff who kept everything running. SECRETS OF CINEMA was not an easy series to make, but a huge team effort pulled it all together. Thanks to all who worked so hard on the series.

Once again, worth saying that SECRETS OF CINEMA benefited enormously from the brilliant input of composer/musician . We are all so grateful for Neil's involvement, which really lifted the shows to the next level.
