We are a poor state with no Medicaid expansion. We are losing rural hospitals every year. Young ppl in rural areas have NO jobs. You offer something basic like universal healthcare, young people of all races will vote in droves.

The Democratic Party has been held back for far too long by privileged white coastal elites who think that their lived experiences are the sole, defining experiences of America. If they want to win, they will have to move Left. Period.

Something I don't hear people talking about, so maybe it's not a thing, but when I was a reporter in Mississippi in the late 1990s, I talked to people who did not register to vote & would not because they could not afford to be called to jury duty. Has anyone else run into this?

Yes. There was a whole report written on poor whites in Mississippi by workers in the Civil Rights Movement. They concluded that poor whites needed basic standards of living before worrying about voting & wrote them off politically, saying there was just too much work to do 1st

Elizabeth Warren needs to be Senate Leader (min or maj) no matter how the Senate goes. She's a way more effective whip than Schumer.
