"I wasn't able to buy Christmas presents for my grandchildren, so I reached out to my friends & family on Facebook," she said. "And boy, they stepped up big time. They sent packages in the mail and gift cards for them. So at least my grandkids won't remember this as a hard time."

She said, "Oh no, it actually great timing. Everybody's been giving me gift cards, so I've been using those to eat." She told me she was glad to go to the movies with a gift card. She lives paycheck-to-paycheck, "so I had been sitting at home doing literally nothing."
