Here would be good place to start. This passes 4 justice with these judges. California Judges Association sends letter , supporting laws that legalize malpractice so lawyers cheat/betray clients with impunity. Some are fighting back.

Unfortunately, I cannot attend this hearing because I will be in another city doing that thing I do for a living (I'm a lawyer.) The ONE hearing I don't attend will be the one where something actually happens. smh. Of course, it may get continued yet again.

Possibly. However, my best guess is that the prosecutor is offering to drop the four other felony assault with a deadly weapon charges ( hit several people with the bike lock) in exchange for pleading guilty to single felony plea, disqualifying him from teaching.
