Hate it when the internet provider does not have a way of paying bills online. Why do even decent sized internet providers behave like small time LCOs.

Yep people ask me a lot about how it is able to do that. Facebook looks really good in the dark mode.

If I had that kind of confidence to pull a scam at that level I am pretty sure this is the best thing to do.

This is what I don't understand if this is happening to genuine people why does it not happen in cases of fraud.

I don't think there is any mechanism for this. Google Maps does rely on user added content. And businesses are not that tech savvy yet to claim their listing.

I heard this one as well. Google one is being mentioned outside every liquor store and now even Banks are mentioning these at their branches.

You would think that but alas it has happened way too many times to people who are genuinely smart. I think thats the whole point behind a con.

So fraudsters change numbers of liquor stores on Google. Someone decides to order in and calls up that number only to be asked for the card details as they cant accept cash or machine is not working. And people fall for it even well educated ones.

The number changing scam on Google Maps is getting out of hand. Even Banks are being targeted now. Earlier it was only liquor shops that I knew of.
