I wish scholars of Sasanians would turn a greater focus on early days of the Empire. While I see a great deal of publications on the end of the Sasanians and their dealings with the Arabs, there is not as much on pre-Khosrow I Anushirvan years. That is where my interests lie.

The King of Kings Podcast 20h
Just as Rome has its Crisis of the Third Century, Persia had its own Crisis of the Second Century. The last century of Parthian rule saw the empire lurch from one calamity to another. Stability only really returned with the rise of the Ardashir I and the Sassanids in 224 AD.
