Thank you! I sent them your details but I didn't see the teen group! I will have to email to ensure they saw it.

Definitely! Lots of inequalities but no great solutions.

I'm struggling - mostly getting a family member to help, but that only works if you are happy having the family member unmasked.

I know as an AHP I probably spend a disproportionate amount of time thinking about these issues but yes, they are frequently dealt with so, so badly.

SLT. And I genuinely do love teaching but however much the university tells us that students can be a help it doesn't seem to work that way. Maybe I do too much - I know past students have given me really good feedback. Does feel overwhelming especially now.

I don't think visual misperception is uncommon but I think that particular one just catches people's imagination even though not common. Same with hospital wards all buying blue plates. Might help some people but confounded with age-related vision loss.

Are you specifically skeptical about seeing holes, or about visual misinterpretation generally? My grandad with Lewy body dementia wouldn't walk on hospital floor because it was shiny and he saw water. Of course not the same as alzheimers! Removing the reflections helped.

Can you give me any details? Would it be suitable for a 17 year old? Thanks!

Yes a good question! Mostly supporting theoretical foundations, giving verbal or written feedback and supporting with planning. Obviously varies from student to student. In theory should add value, as you say but usually not.

I love having students but it inevitably means that I end up bringing work home and working when I should be sleeping. I still do it but it is absolutely a burden. I know at least two of my placement supervisors felt the same.

Thanks Hannah - the client has already benefitted from their befriending scheme so I'm sure he would be open to suggestions from them!

Thank you! I had seen the ARC one advertised but had forgotten where. Though the client tells me that under 40 doesn't count as young 🤔

Anyone know any aphasia groups running online for young adults that would be open to a 17 year old from UK? Nothing obvious local to us and they would love to meet others in similar situation.

This looks great and really relevant but my timetable is set for this week. What a shame! Will look out for future events.

I used to with people living at home, but found nursing homes just weren't willing to supply any.

It was awful. Soft means so many different things. Not sure what her outcome was - she was very frail by that point.

I saw a lady in VF clinic who said her GI Dr had told her "liquid" diet and she had lost half her body weight in 18 months. Clinic letter specified "soft" diet. Combined VF and barium swallow suggested she should avoid bread but managed most soft solids (maybe level 5-6). Tragic
