It’s the same here in the UK. My daughter clobbered a would be attacker with her 6” heel. Got him good & proper. We have to improvise to protect ourselves, because no one else will. It’s clear we’re lambs to the slaughter, with minimal defence. Even a alarm is not enough.

You are not allowed to have it in the UK either. Perfume in a spray bottle is not illegal though & that stings like hell believe me, I would show ladies at self defence classes how their handbag was a cache of weapons, if they put some thought behind it.

Years ago I was taught by “professionals” how to use hair spray and a cigarette lighter both of which are quite legal to carry in a handbag.
