We'll get better at those long range tracks... this one was a tripod issue. You can't track an F9 RTLS from the causeway with only +70 degrees of tripod head pitch... and it's much less stable when operated as a bipod 😅

I believe the frangible nuts have weaknesses that will break even if they don't all... frange? The rocket basically pulls apart even if one don't disconnect. No clue if that's what happened here. Maybe slight thrust diff?

Detailed images of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 booster 1050.1 being towed into Port Canaveral this morning. The booster was poised to land at LZ-1 Wednesday but a grid fin issue resulted in an unplanned but safe splashdown off Florida’s coast.
