Strictly relating to athletics returning: This is a very positive sign. I keep hearing ‘the pressure is on...’ unions and teachers and administrators. For sports to work, it’s not. The pressure is on KIDS. Wear a mask, be responsible, distance, and we just might play this year

NEW: NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo says schools can re-open. "By our infection rate, all schools can re-open in all regions of the state," Cuomo said. Individual districts still need to have their individual plans approved.

I’m one of the many still without power (and running water) in the area. This tweet by ConEd was good... until the last two words

A coach told me recently that if football gets cancelled he believes 6-10 of his players won’t go to school in the fall. Not that they’ll transfer - They’ll drop out. He’ll do everything he can to prevent that. But being remote will make it almost impossible

And this is not me saying we need to open schools. Or that we must have sports. I’d love it if we did. But I don’t have the answers on how to safely do those things and I have my doubts it will get figured out. Regardless, are schools preparing for the fallout? I really hope so

There some serious ramifications to not having sports and activities that I feel are going largely ignored. This article highlights many of them. Yes, public health is foremost. But we cannot completely ignore the effects on teens detailed here

I’m sure it didn’t help. Bad weekend. Pitching isn’t very good. Afraid this will become more common as season goes

Very sad news. Mr. Ahart was a great ambassador for Section 9 Athletics and small-school sports across the state. Any Section 1 that team that reached the state playoffs in football and basketball likely crossed paths with him. A very kind man

As you may know, I not only grew up in Eastchester, I lived right next to that park and grew up watching and playing games on that field. I probably chased down more foul balls for ice pops than any other kid from 1987-1992 (unofficial record)
