‘Time to check the new—‘ NO. STOP. It’s NEVER time to check the news. That’s the trouble with the world: too much news and not enough little egrets flying across a clear sky, tinged by early morning sun. You’re welcome.

Tonight's full moon is known as the Woodcock Moon. Folklore whispers that large numbers of woodcock, fleeing the frigid landscapes of the far north, use November's moonlight to find their way to our shores. And in doing so, they bring with them the first snow of winter.

Tomorrow at 11am, the museum library will be open. This is a chance to browse the shelves and see some books rarely brought out of store.

Delighted that has scheduled the Harlech P-38 - making it the first legally designated military aircraft crash site protected for its historic and archaeological interest in the UK.

There are tales in our landscape wherever we , and as it's , here's a fantastic tale from the St David's area of the Ancient Connections project area. We'll be unearthing more over the coming years and we need your help.

ROAD comes from the same root as ‘ride’, and originally referred to a passage wide enough for horses. STREET derives from ‘strata’, a Latin word for a paved road. AVENUE comes from the French ‘avenir’, meaning ‘to arrive’, and originally referred specifically to an entranceway.

A bit of a long-shot but does anyone have either a ping-pong table or a table football they no longer use/need and would be willing to donate it to our Junior Doctors' Mess at Ysbyty Gwynedd? If you can help, please email me jean.williams3@wales.nhs.uk Many thanks.
