If you'd listened to The Fall you'd have known, Jesse! Mark E Smith would never say 'fecking'.

It's unusual for twitter to misunderstand things, but it's happened here. I'm saying being a centrist and being a moderate are two different things. One is an ideology, the other a means of achieving a goal.

I saw this description on Quora: "Centrism can be thought of more as a political ideology, whereas being a moderate is more of a political methodology. Centrist more defines the what, while moderatism more defines the how."

It feels the words centrist and moderate have been conflated and turned into an insult. There's lots of people out there who have some progressive views and some more moderate liberal views, but keep the moderate stuff quiet as people yell "centrist" at them.

I know I know - ALTHOUGH the other day I wrote someone a nice long email offering them luck with a project and they responded with a single emoji and I felt slighted!

PS: I am very sorry if you DM me (my DMs are open) and I don't reply. When your job is to write all day every day the last thing you want to do is write more when you're done. Don't feel slighted!

I think narcissists have a childlike response to feeling slighted / in danger. They have low emotional intelligence. And that's why they lash out so badly when slighted.

Psychopaths (and definitely narcissists) do get hurt by criticism, though - as it prods at their grandiosity, so that wouldn't discount them, I think.
