After Mets higherups expressed their support for Mickey Callaway, Mets players held a players only meeting. That’s something that was overdue. Big day in Mets land.

By using the term “foreseeable future,” to say how long Callaway will be Mets manager, Van Wagenen didn’t paint himself into corner. Best guess here is, Callaway is safe for a week, maybe two. A month? Perhaps. But the season? Not likely.

You are very wise. One bit of advice: Make sure to use equal parts Arby’s sauce and horsey sauce!

They are high because the insurer has stats on how often it has to pay plus they are in the business to make money

Reminder: Mets do have insurance on Cespedes. Of course, they had to pay the premiums (presumably not cheap considering how often the insurer has to pay out). The insurer (and team) may also want to look at how the ranch accident occurred that see if YC violated his contract too.

Mets publicly aren’t putting a timeline on Cespedes, saying the swelling is too great to know. But, if it isn’t obvious, this year is out for him. Next year and beyond are the questions.

To clarify on Cespedes he has multiple right ankle fractures. The left ankle was not fractured in his ranch accident.

Van Wagenen says Callaway will be the manager for the “foreseeable future.” Followup questioner points out that’s pretty ambiguous. Van Wagenen doesn’t amend the wording when it’s asked if that means the whole season.

Cespedes told Mets he has a violent fall on ranch, causing ankle fractures. Declines to put timeline on things. Hard to imagine his 2019 isn’t offer.

hoping to sneak Aaron Altherr through waivers after using him for only 1 at-bat since he’s been there, then send him to triple-a. Altherr, though, is a great defender who can play all 3 OF positions and hit 19 HR in just 422 AB a couple years ago.

Mets higherups aren’t blaming this on Mickey. Terrible series, of course, but finger isn’t being point on Callaway.

For those asking, Mickey Callaway will still be mets manager tomorrow
