Before ACA, weight was a pre-existing condition. Nearly killed myself trying to be thin enough to be insured but ultimately being self-employed was also a deniable offense. Costs for the uninsured are often 3x or more what insurance companies pay. It’s a mess.

There is a book-length reply I could write about how lucky we are to still have a home after paying out of pocket for emergency surgery because no one would insure me, self-employed and fluffy, two strikes against me. The ACA has made it better, but still so lacking.

This is what’s for dinner here tonight. I’m using soyrizo and refried beans made in the Instant Pot with a variation of ’s original recipe and warm corn tortillas.

Allergy alert issued: Thank goodness and better late than never. This product was reported to CAERS by GFWD on January 4th. It also is one of the products highlighted in the letter that is being sent to FDA personnel. Maybe we are making progress?? Keep making noise!!

So many in the community worked hard to get the Gluten Free Labeling Rule in place. We can’t stand by and let it be disregarded! Thanks for doing this, !

Someone asked how much it costs to mail a postcard. It’s $0.35. My post office didn’t have postcard stamps so I used the kiosk. It took forever to print them, but not as long as it’s taken the FDA to enforce gluten free labeling!
