Grateful that all three of you came to . When I was an undergraduate, SecStates were universally old, gray, and male - what an honor to be back on campus and outnumbered on stage 3:1 by three historic women secretaries of state! Appreciate your friendship and leadership.

History has shed its tears - but France rises up, rebuilds and marches on. As President Macron said: "it’s what the French expect."

A day later and I'm still haunted by the images of Notre Dame. Through centuries, the cathedral has survived the rioting of the Huguenots, the Revolution, bombing in two World Wars and more. France's resilience in the face of adversity is an inspiration.

It's almost as if someone said "Congress has hit rock bottom" and Massie replies with "hold my beer."

Thanks for the conversation last night - and for all you're doing to raise the urgency of climate change. We both got into activism at the same age and I can tell you from my experience: if you’re getting attacked by powerful people, it means you’re striking a chord.

Fritz Hollings was a mentor to me and countless others in the Senate. If these were some of the last words Fritz heard, they're a fitting tribute to a giant.

Fun catching up with a Kerry Senate alum, Deb's wife, and unrelenting optimist . She's smart as ever - we had a great talk about public service, faith, and lessons learned along the way. Very proud of trails she's blazed since leaving the Hill – give it a listen.

. is right. He’s a good man who cares about the Senate, his country, and our discourse. I saw it firsthand on the Foreign Relations Committee. He’s saying the right things for the right reasons. The question is: why isn’t everyone else?

Impressive: and demonstrating there’s common ground if you’re willing to find it. The message to Congress: deal yourself back into your Constitutional role. It's not easy - as I saw in '13 and '14 - but we're all stronger when Congress works.

Climate change is real, period - we don't need a panel to invent alternative facts. We must act NOW. Our planet and our grandchildren and beyond are relying on us.

I’ve known for thirty years: he’s too tough to care what (or anyone) thinks - but the rest of us should be bothered that a president would ever say this about a Senate majority leader - who also passed historic legislation - regardless of party.

Thanks for coming all the way to my friend! Was great to catch up and to reflect on our past efforts together. It was clear to the students how much you care about your country and the region. I wish we had time for me to treat you to - a New Haven tradition!
