Wow, $10 billion USD. I presume this is either funny money (the XRP Ledger will happily trade fake assets as well as real ones, just as you can create worthless ERC20 tokens) or some gateway funding their own wallet with their own IOUs.

Because the XRP Ledger is permissionless, anyone can use it to exchange assets, whether or not they have real value, with anyone else who agrees to accept them. This asset probably had no real value.

Mr. Schwartz - you always are fair and open minded to new ideas. What is your view on Ripple burning 20 billion XRP as its de-escrowed, in addition to selling XRP and investing in start-ups? I woke up and realised Ripple just owns way too much XRP.

So in other words, when the XRP Smart contracts protocol gets released, anyone can use the XRP Ledger for just about any sort of transaction, whether releated to funds or not ?
