I cannot believe that in this day and age, mags are still fat shaming. I've been in the business long enough to grow a thick skin, however I worry about those in the public eye who may not be so strong. Particularly relevant on Mental Heath Awareness Week.

An extraordinary gesture and a compelling moral statement by Lyra’s friends in Derry.

Cool. Not there at moment but was an expat there for years& dislike the concept of ownership of An Understanding of Spain. As if there's only one understanding. You saying he couldn't/shouldn't make points because he's a newbie in Spain, unlike u, is totally from the schoolyard.

He wouldn’t like you. You know that right? You would’ve been one of the reasons he went nuts in the Temple.

Also, who gave u your Gold level in 'Understanding Spain' certificate? Are u there when 'earns' his? Do u hand it to him? Are u the gatekeeper to that phenomenon? Where's the yardstick? Did u make it? Understanding requires empathy/ openness. Yours seem limited.

A "novice view of Spain "!!! Are u the Understanding Spain Police??? You don't get to decide how long it takes to understand Spain.Totally subjective & depends what you're understanding. Sounds like you've soaked up a lifetime supply of arrogance whilst there.Get over yourself.

My God Luke. U big child. Uwere there first &udon't want to share ur toys. R u the only expat who can be 'deeply engaged w/Spain' & its 'complexities'? I adore how shares his awe, respect, joy & musings re Spain/its language. It's not a f*cking competition.

By a ' bunch of shithouses ' do you mean grieving families whose lives have been ripped apart & irrevocably ruined? If so, I think I know who the 'shithouse' is.

See these individuals they never got to be 76 year old men. They were unarmed marching for their rights as British citizens. Yet they were gunned down by soldier F and other British paratroopers. Remember them.

That's not Soldier F, Sherlock. He's not even a Para (small clue there, Tone, is that he's not wearing a beret). He's Dennis Hutchings. Facing trial for shooting an unarmed man with learning difficulties in the back. 60 miles from Derry, two years later. Maybe take a break, eh?

'Overwhelming' civic & political calls for a human rights checklist to be completed BEFORE decisions are made to stop or reduce benefits. Due process & impact assessments to establish if children may go hungry. Why would Tracy Meharg PermSec of NOT implement this?

Up to June last year the number of refugees who had drowned in the Mediterranean since 2014 was well over 34000. It is extremely shocking that people who have the available means to help those refugees didn't but immediately pledged vast sums of money to Notre-Dame.

My thoughts exactly. Or putting their billions to help the down & out. But then billionaires usually get to where they are by screwing huge numbers of people over. To the point where pretty art and cultural icons matter more than humans. Gross.
