I now have envelopes of protein powder being added to meal trays. It’s supposed to be tasteless, so I’m adding it to my breakfast oatmeal. I guess it also means I can indulge in bacon.

Infection doctor just came in. It’s gone into my blood and is now systemic. I. Now. Officially. Hate. This. I don’t want to call Mr R in case he he’s driving. I’m waiting until he gets here to tell him.

Irony: When roommate heard she had a TV, she said she hadn’t one for 13 yrs. they asked if she wanted to see anything special. She said everything!!! Yay.

I realized I hadn’t shared a photo from this hospital room, which I hopefully will be leaving soon for . It’s a misty late afternoon on South Puget Sound. I just now have a new roommate. She sounds nice.

I thought that might be it. Until she spent 3 hrs until 1 am watching Secretariat, then told middle of the night med nurse & morning nurse the story & about her trip to see his grave. I’d thought once he won Triple Crown, that was it for the night. But she switched back to Fox.

They have to take out the implants, including leg rod, flush everything out, replace w/ new implants. Dr left antibiotic bombs inside, but apparently it’s really strong.

No, I’m not going home until after Tuesday’s surgery. This isn’t a home-manageable infection, unfortunately. They’ve brought out all the big guns. Now I have to get well enough for surgery.

Thanks. I do so miss writing, but while I’ve used it to escape many things over the years, though I keep gathering details, (even while waiting for IV drugs to kick in before yesterday’s procedure), the storytelling /weaving them together part of my brain hasn’t been clicking.

Thank you so much! I was optimistically planning on going home today. Mr R even changed my bed with one of the 5 sets of sheets he bought on Amazon when this all began. Before that, we usually got new bedding when I changed room colors or when company was coming.
