Thank you to the cities, counties, housing advocates, labor and civic leaders, who came out to support SB 5 this morning. SB 5 will jump-start construction of affordable housing and create the local partnerships needed to build homes desperately need for California families.

The is right. SB 5 is the only financing bill left in the Legislature. It makes the State an on-going partner to immediately build affordable housing units needed to help low income families on the verge of homelessness stay in their homes.

I'm grateful to the entire workforce at St. Louise Community Hospital and our Santa Clara Valley Medical for their dedicated care of victims of the Gilroy shooting. We in San Jose are lucky to have a such a great Level 1 Trauma Center in our county hospital.
