The Iron Hills Civic is a big destination on the Staten Island circuit. When I worked at the Advance its president, Dr. Khalid, would send us a comically large cake covered in cannoli and rainbow cookies around Christmas.

You can type "fundraiser" and "invite" and a chosen candidate's name in the search bar on Twitter and find plenty. I'm not going to link them and drag other random reporters into this Twitter Canoe, though.

Reporters tweet out fundraiser invites all the time. For one thing, it's a way to illustrate how the wealthy, who can afford $5,000-a-plate dinners, can get access to lawmakers that people without that money cannot.
