His son, Alex, was killed in the 2012 Aurora theater shooting. He became a state lawmaker to make change after tragedy. He's passionate and fiery. We will see more of these kinds of speeches from Tom.

Restricting the self defense rights of nonviolent individuals can't be justified. These types of bills cross the line.

That's awful that his son died. Doesn't give him any legal authority to restrict constitutional rights of law abiding citizens.

It's very powerful indeed, and I can't imagine what Tom has been through. And that doesn't mean we shouldn't have serious debate on the places in which this bill fails to offer due process to American citizens.

Why do people want to remove the tools from the people? From what i read on this platform on a regular basis, could we do the same for words, am i not afforded my right to be me? Or must i be told how to think and feel as well? Much less protected from what hasn’t happened.

It's a reasonable question. What I'd ask you is whether you support a 72-hour psychological hold? They're very similar. Not identical, but similar.

I agree that this is something that needs further discussion, not sure on holding someone, but indeed circumstances do arise that may require 72 hr hold, my concern is how slippery this can slide, and what the guidelines are.

I get that, and the Dems want it as slippery as possible. Will have bill drafter on the show on Tuesday morning to talk about it.

Specifically where do you see a problem with due process?
