Longtime NBA writer Marty McNeal has died, formerly of the Dallas Times Herald and Sacramento Bee. RIP to the great Marty Mac. First Roger B. Brown and now Marty Mac. Marty Mac was the first major beatwriter of color in the Dallas Fort Worth and Roger B was 2nd.

Marty Mac was incredibly generous with his time when I was a young NBA beat writer in Orlando. It was always a joy to see and interact with him. He'd have you in stitches, so damn funny. This really hurts. Rest in peace, brother.
