Crosstown had the smart idea to track occurrences of "suspect wore a hoodie" in LA police reports following the 2012 shooting of Trayvon Martin. Yeah, they went up ... and still are.

It’s the kind of thing you do if an entire person’s legacy is built around one political moment, like a key Watergate figure. The past two years are barely a blip compared to the work he spent decades doing. Very odd.

I understand the tendency to play to the politics of the now in news, but this really couches his legacy in partisan terms rather than the historic role he’s played in moving our country forward on justice issues.

Weird thing I’m seeing in the Cummings obit stories today. A lot of the major news sites are putting Trump in the headline. Three here from NYT, WP and (surprisingly) the Baltimore Sun. The only one that plays it straight (CNN) doesn’t mention his historic legacy.

What would Elijah want us to say about him today? As my heart and soul grieves, I believe he would want us to think about the life we live and the service we give, because it matters. I believe he would encourage us to be a light in a dark world.

"Racist Elijah Cummings" "has done a terrible job for the people of his district." "Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully." "Elijah Cummings spends all of his time trying to hurt innocent people." "Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!" to "My warmest condolences"

Here's more: Dakota Hudson was charged with all 7 runs. He threw 15 pitches. How many pitchers in the pitch-count era have allowed that many runs with that few pitches in a postseason game? None. Of course!
