Cargill is the largest privately-held company in the US, and it wields its corporate power to abuse contract growers and slaughterhouse workers, animals, and the land. Cargill’s ads pull the wool over consumers’ eyes and steal the market from independent family farmers.

Proud to represent these outstanding organizations before the FTC. The world's largest meat companies are effectively stealing billions of dollars from consumers and independent farmers by pretending to be family farms.

How unbelievable is this? This “family” farm is actually *proud* of the fact that each farmer oversees ONLY 20,000 chickens. 🤦‍♂️ The bar is so incredibly low for the Meat Industry that it’s laughable. More proof of the neglect farm animals face today.

Think about this. We have 167 chickens right now in our care and a full team of trained caregivers, many vet techs, who take care of them. Farms don’t “caretake”— they produce. This marketing is really gross.

For context, one person at Wilcox “Family” Farms is likely responsible for taking “care” of more chickens than exist at every major animal sanctuary/rescue in the US combined.

FWIW Certified Humane is progress but it’s still factory farmed meat. Certified Humane pigs and chickens can be kept in indoor warehouses their entire lives. They’ll never feel the grass beneath their feet or the sun on their backs. Still industrialized cruelty.
