There will never be another Michelle and I appreciate having had her in my life and the positive impact she had on me as a young Black lesbian in Los Angeles. Rest in peace Michelle and thank you.

For lesbian women of color over 35 from Los Angeles—this is going to hit home hard. MOST of us spent our fair share of time at Michelle’s parties. A lot of us grew up in those parties. It was a safe space for us.

Los Angeles’ lesbian community lost an icon yesterday with the passing of Michelle Levy known to many as Michelle’s XXX. I am absolutely devastated at the loss of my friend and one of the most important women in Los Angeles' lesbian community and history.

Put the damn phone down when you’re walking on the street. The life you save will probably be your own. Ijs.

This is Los Angeles. Everybody’s vision isn’t 20/20, everybody’s brakes aren’t good and everybody’s reaction to a person suddenly stepping off the curb while they’re driving isn’t always going to kick in in enough time to spare your life.

One day the Lawd may be too busy to save your life and who are you going to text or what video are you going watch when you’re dead? Walking and texting is just as deadly as driving and texting.

I’m so sick of watching people walk into cars, street poles, big ass holes and into the middle of oncoming traffic just because they’re so mesmerized by whatever they’re doing on their phones.

I see the Lawd continues to bless y’all who like to walk in the middle of the street looking down at your phone in front of my car. 🙄
