IDK about the WKU case, but if UK wins, the Kentucky Open Records Act could be effectively gutted as other public institutions would withhold records then refuse to turn them over to the AG for in camera review.

Terrific reporting: hundreds of millions of dollars in right-wing dark money influencing US court picks. One donor alone spent over $24 million on the Supreme Court + $1M on Trump's inaugural - but is hiding

IDK. A lot of it was about brazen politics in local schools and property tax abuses that the legislature fixed in 1990. Imagine that!

Thanks, Brenna. That was an exciting time for public policy and politics in Kentucky — and for newspapers. The late John Carroll’s brilliance was all over that project.

Which is not to say we don’t spend too much on arms and “defense” or that that $$$ couldn’t be put to better use.

Problem isn’t that we don’t spend enough, it’s that too much of what we spend goes into profits for insurance companies and drug companies rather than care. The U.S. spends more per person on health care than other countries yet gets worse results. Also a lot of quality problems.

2/2 Why McConnell? -Routinized filibuster (when GOP was in minority) which had been exception; -Blocked gun control after Sandy Hook; -Blocked bipartisan statement on Russian meddling, in 2016; -M. Garland; -Wife now in cabinet

Because Nixon said this on a secret tape it was a scandal that forced him from office. Trump says it at rallies and on Twitter and nothing happens. Announcing your abuse of power in public doesn't make it less of an impeachable offense

If a woman has sex with 100 random men in a year, she can still only produce one full term pregnancy. If a guy has sex with 100 random women in a year, he can produce 100 full term pregnancies. So why exactly are we only talking about regulating women?
