We only publish info when you can see and hear the words coming out of subject’s mouth. Many journos have come away unscathed after retracting their entire stories. Actual deception: Rolling Stone, Couric, CNN. After apologizing for lying, Brian Williams still has a job with NBC

I think it's deliciously ironic reporters are taking sides of a plaintiff in a case about whether we defamed someone by publishing videotape of a man making a statement about the plaintiff. You are anti-journalist, anti-media, and anti-1st amendment. Because politics.

Instead, NYT and CBS News report anonymous quotes offered on deep background allegedly spoken by real individuals. Undercover techniques are invasive but necessary in a news world where the networks and major papers deceive their audiences constantly.

Our journalists follow the letter + spirit of the law. Our news gathering tactics aren't new - the 20th century is replete with examples of intrepid undercover journalists. Mainstream outlets abandoned such methods because they are too costly and too damaging to the status quo.

Undercover methods are not only ethically permissible, but morally required when there is no other way to investigate a matter of national public interest. While we deceive our subjects - blue check journalists get away with deceiving their audiences on the DAILY.

Today we go trial in Asheville, NC to defend the 1st amendment. MAKE NO MISTAKE. This has nothing to do with our news-gathering tactics. They would never go after or like this. But video is real, irrefutable, and undeniably clear - that's why we use it. (1/4)

This trial is nothing more than an attack on the media by people who are ideologically opposed to what we do. Veritas will win! (4/4)

We did not alter the meaning of his statements, and we preserved the video recording in its original state. We issued the report because the public has a right to know the issues raised in these videos. (3/4)

We stand by our reporting in the video that is the subject of this defamation lawsuit in Federal Court in Asheville, North Carolina. We accurately reported what a high-level political operative told us on video tape. (2/4)

LEAKED Facebook docs showed plans to trigger "special features... leading up to important elections." They admit they already "demote bad content." What is bad content? They cite Lauren Chen conservative commentary as an example. Work at FB? Reach out:

UNDERCOVER CNN AUDIO: "Where we fail are covering the stories of people who think differently... [people] who want to see abortion banned... CNN to some degree does a poor job reaching out to find those voices and giving them a fair crack at the whip."

John Bonifield added, CNN has "to do what they got to do to make their money, I think. And so I love the news business, but I'm very cynical about it and at the same time so are most of my colleagues."

Let's talk about 's business model. We released video of a CNN producer saying your network is constantly harping about Russia for "ratings," even though the story is "mostly bullsh*t." He said journalism "ethics" are a joke.
