I just never understood why a street drug dealer selling fentanyl gets a much bigger punishment vs someone like this billionaire who made 100's of million off of the sale of fentanyl through pharmacies. Glad this billionaire is in prison anyway.

Oh dang. Drug dealer gets 5.5 years in prison for selling fentanyl. Not even close to what a darknet market drug dealer gets for selling a fraction of that.

I think it is two-fold. Billionaires can afford much better lawyers, and there is a bias in favour of male executives, who are members of the most privileged class. Privilege is deeply embedded in the system.
