The ghosts of Chinese control or even ownership have haunted the Trieste port since a March 2019 MoU. But those concerns have always been overblown.

Glenn Greenwald has not done his research on Ukrainian prosecutors. The EU, the IMF and the US (through Biden) wanted Viktor Shokin fired - because he was an obstacle to fighting corruption.

Couldn’t agree more. Obviously any progress is to be welcomed, but this was a bit of a missed opportunity in my opinion. Unfortunate considering the amount of passion and effort on both sides. 🇬🇧🇺🇦

Limitless possibilities for that 2,000 tons of tomato paste. Uninspiring deal for a country (🇬🇧) that's a net importer of food. Also, Ukraine IT talent is largely untapped bc of UK visa restrictions.

I may be one of the biggest advocates for 🇺🇦🇬🇧 ties - but I don't think this can be fairly called an FTA, and I disagree that an extra 2,000 tons tomato paste import quota is significant contribution to UK food security. This deal was unambitious and disappointing.

An underwhelming agreement, to be honest, and fell short of being a proper FTA. Bilateral trade with Ukraine was already at $2.5bn (allegedly) with lots of room for improvement. UK is net importer of food - this deal was missed opportunity w/ the 🇺🇦 agri and IT powerhouse.

Not actually a free trade agreement though, is it? Major complaints on both sides, to anybody who is actually listening.

Four banks suspect fraudulent financial transactions? That that sounds like an exaggeration. Transactions that flag SAR aren't necessarily fraudulent - they're suspicious or potentially suspicious. Slidstvo doesn't even use word fraud. If fraud was alleged, give us more details.
